Malta’s cost of living is lower than that of the UK and most of Europe. Services such as water, electricity and gas are reasonably priced and there is no Council Tax.

The cost of labour in Malta is lower than most other European countries. This greatly benefits foreign residents who have property in Malta and who wish to carry out maintenance work and repairs. Carpenters, plumbers and electricians are capable and relatively inexpensive. Domestic help such as maids and gardeners can easily be found at low hourly rates.
